Description

Easy Slow Cooker Greek Leg of Lamb in the Slow Cooker – fall off the bone tender lamb with perfectly roasted lemon potatoes all made in the crock pot!


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 bone-in leg of lamb
  • 45 medium potatoes, chopped into 12” pieces
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic, divided (about 2 cloves)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano, more to taste
  • 1 cup white wine (substitute chicken stock if desired)
  • 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  1. Heat oil over medium high heat in a large skillet and sear the lamb on all sides, about 3 minutes per side. Meanwhile add half of garlic and the potatoes to the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Place lamb over potatoes and sprinkle with oregano and place remaining garlic over top.
  3. Pour wine over potatoes and lamb.
  4. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours or high 5-6 hours.
  5. Squeeze lemon over potatoes just before serving and season to taste with extra oregano if desired.

  • choose an acidic wine such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pino Grigio
