Thank you to Lamps Plus for sponsoring this post. I was provided product for review but as always all opinions are my own.
When I first shared my new office/craft room with you all we talked about replacing the light fixture. It was previously one of the builder grade flush lights like this:
Incidentally, when we were looking at the model thinking about building one of these houses my realtor referred to these as “boob lights” which is now the only thing I can think of when I see them. If you hadn’t heard that yet, you’re welcome.
Anyways, I first thought I wanted to put in a chandelier but with my husband being in the military I feel that I always have that possibility of moving and renting our house out hanging over my head influencing my decor decisions. Because of that, and the possibility that a renter would want this to be a bedroom and possibly a bedroom without a fancy schmancy chandelier I decided to do something a little less glitzy.
I found this gorgeous semi-flush pendant at Lamps Plus and I knew it was the perfect compromise between a run of the mill flush mount light and a chandelier. It hangs down from the ceiling without being too much and I love the drum shade and crystal accent.
I think it looks perfect over my regency style desk and the acrylic diffuser under the drum makes the light perfect when I’m working in the evenings.
I think the light adds a special touch to the office but it’s not so much that it couldn’t easily fit a bedroom in a number of styles as well if necessary.
I really love my office and everything in it now, thank you to Lamps Plus for helping me to find the perfect finishing touch!
