Thank you to 3M for sponsoring this post and allowing me to get creative with their Scotch Expressions Tapes!
While my boys have been back in school for about six weeks now (their school is on a year-round schedule) I know that many of you have kids who are just returning now. To celebrate I made this easy-peasy back to school gift for less than $5!
My oldest son loves to draw and color so I picked up some inexpensive colored pencils and notepad at the dollar store and this $1 plastic tote at the craft store.
I couldn’t just leave it like this though, could I? Of course not, especially since I was asked to make a fun back to school project for Scotch Expressions Tapes! Scotch Expressions Tapes are available in over 100 colors and patterns and four varieties—Magic Tape, masking tape, washi tape and shipping tape.
Using some super cute Scotch Expressions Washi Tape I was able to decorate the tote and notebook. To finish up the notebook I took a plain old chipboard letter and gave it a polka dot makeover-my boys love anything with their names or initials on it! I also made a cute washi tape twist tie to wrap up the colored pencils!
Making these twist ties is super easy-just cut a piece of floral wire to the length you want and center it on your washi tape and fold it over on itself. I like to leave some extra on the ends so I can snip a little triangle into them ’cause I’m fancy like that. I also added another piece of washi tape cut in half down the center to give it more pop!
Scotch Expressions Tapes are available at office superstores and mass retailers nationwide, as well as online. Head to ScotchBrand.com/EXP to find a store near you. It’s easy! Just type in your zip code. (And they’re super affordable priced at only $250-$5.99!)
Also make sure to check out this awesome gift wrapping contest they have going on this fall-you could win a trip to NYC and chance to compete for the title of “Most Gifted Wrapper” and a prize of $10,000!
