It’s probably not much of a surprise that I love apples-they are one of my favorite fruits and this time of year I just go apple crazy! I love sharing apple cocktails like this Apple Cider Ginger Beer Cocktail, so of course eventually, it would get a sangria version too!

While I usually make sangria in warmer weather, there’s something about the crisp autumn nights that made me want to make a new version and man is it delicious!

This Apple Pie Sangria combines all the rich flavors of fall with sweet cider, whipped cream vodka, and refreshing white wine. It’s a must try recipe for entertaining!

Ingredients

  • apples
  • oranges
  • cinnamon
  • cloves
  • ground ginger
  • whipped cream vodka (see variations below)
  • apple cider
  • Chardonnay
  • Prosecco

Step by step

  1. In a gallon pitcher combine fruit, spices, vodka and apple cider.
  2. Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. When ready to serve add wines.

Tips for best results

  • stir the mixture well before refrigerating to really mix the flavors
  • plan ahead so you prep the sangria at least 4 hours before you intend to serve it

Variations

You can really play with this recipe to make it your own-that’s the beauty of sangrias!

  • Vanilla flavored vodka would work beautifully in the place of the whipped cream vodka
  • Make this a Caramel Apple Sangria by substituting caramel vodka or salted caramel vodka
  • You can try different varieties of wine as well-if you prefer a sweeter sangria a Reisling would be fun to try, while any sparkling white wine can substitute for the Prosecco.
  • You can also substitute pumpkin pie spice for the cinnamon sticks, ginger, and cloves if necessary-just play with the measurements until you are happy with the taste!

And if your pitcher gets low through the night just add more alcohol and cider on top of the fruit- I promise nobody will be the wiser!
