I’m always on the lookout for non-candy Valentine’s Day ideas…I think we still have remnants of my children’s Halloween haul hiding in a cabinet somewhere so I’m definitely not trying to load up any more before Easter! I still like to find something the kids will love and something that’s not a huge pain in the you-know-what to put together. In the past we’ve given out crayons and popcorn packs but this year I came up with these super easy Free Valentine’s Day Pencil Valentines and I’m so in love with them!
I was inspired to make these little gems by a recent foray through Target’s Dollar Spot-if you haven’t been lately check it out, they are definitely hitting it out of the park. I found these adorable patterned pencils (along with a cartload of other goodies!) and thought they would be perfect for gifting this Valentine’s Day. A quick session on the computer and I made these little tags to go along with them. Just cut them out and stick them on with a little double sided tape and you’re all set! Better yet, print them out and let the kids cut and tape them up while you pat yourself on the back for a job well done and maybe even pour a little vino to celebrate!

These would be great for teachers to give out to their classes as well, don’t you think? I’m planning to hand these out to my Scout I’m Den Leader too-I love my little guys!
