There’s no DIY or recipe today y’all, just an awesome new opportunity I’ve recently learned about for U.S. veterans that I couldn’t resist sharing with you. As most of you know I’m the proud wife of a soldier, but I also come from a long line of service members. My stepfather and uncle served full careers in the Navy, my grandfather was in the Air Force a Vietnam Veteran, and numerous other relatives have served in the Army just like my sweet husband.
As my husband and I approach his retirement date we’ve been researching more and more the various career options and opportunities he can pursue after his military career. As we have looked at options, owning a franchise has been one that has consistently appeared on our short list. Because of that, when I heard about the 7-Eleven Veteran Franchising Contest I had to share as I’m sure many of you have veterans in your lives too!
7-Eleven has long been known as a supporter of veterans: it’s President and CEO Joe DePinto is a veteran himself and it has been voted a “Best for Veterans” Franchise. 7-Eleven franchises are great options for vets because they are turnkey businesses and they provide the land, store, and equipment. Also, because it operates under a gross profit split, 7-Eleven is committed to helping their franchisees succeed!
So here’s how the contest works:
- Entrants need to enter via a form on the OPERATION: TAKE COMMAND website no later than January 25th.
- Top finalists will be announced in March 2015
- All finalists will create a video explaining why they should be the winner of the franchise.
- The videos will be posted on Facebook and America will vote!
- The top 3 finalists will be flown to Dallas for an in person interview and the winner will be selected and announced April 13, 2015.
Isn’t that awesome? One lucky veteran will have his or her own business just a few months from now!
I think it’s awesome that 7-Eleven is offering this opportunity for those that have served our country to become self-employed entrepreneurs!
If you know a veteran deserving of this opportunity I encourage you to pass the info along-you can’t win if you don’t enter! Veterans can apply on the OPERATION: TAKE COMMAND website.
