If you’ve been keeping up on our decorating progress in our new home you already can see that there have been two pretty big additions to the master bedroom in the last few weeks-my gorgeous oil painting finally arrived and we have a brand new ah-mazing headboard courtesy of Birch Lane. I wanted to create a serene, coastal bedroom-but first, let me remind you what the bedroom looked like just a couple of weeks ago: It was a little boring, right? All those white walls and nothing on them. I had already mentioned how I didn’t want to use our old DIY headboard and upcycled it into a potting bench, and I was on the fence about getting a new headboard because I wasn’t sure what I wanted and whether I wanted to DIY one or buy one. Then, this baby arrived in my life… …the new Birch Lane catalog. Have you heard of Birch Lane yet? It’s a new home furnishings line with fresh and traditional pieces (just my style!) at an actually attainable price point. I love finding a great catalog that I can look at knowing I can afford to buy anything out of-there’s nothing worse than finding something awesome and then seeing an astronomical price-amIright? Anyways, I started digging through the catalog and I fell just a teensy bit in love with the Parker Headboard. I knew it was meant to be. I ordered it in the Stone fabric and it is everything I hoped for. How gorgeous is that detailing? This is one time I’m glad I didn’t DIY it-I can do a pretty great job on most DIYs but I never would have been able to get this level of perfection. The addition of the headboard and painting (which I found in Charleston, SC at my favorite gallery) really complete the room, don’t you think? The painting is by an artist named Adam Hall and it’s a stormy seascape-I love how large it is and it’s beautiful to look at. I love to paint myself so I could spend hours just staring at it trying to figure out how he made certain brush strokes, etc. Next on the list are window treatments for this room-I tried to DIY some valances and it went horribly wrong-definitely a DIY fail, and I’m hesitant to purchase multiple curtain rods for a rental (we’d have to leave them behind if we choose to install them) so we may try some no-holes window treatments like in the living room…I’m up for your ideas too! I receive product for review but as always all opinions are my own-this headboard is every bit as amazing and high quality in real life as it is in the pictures! Thanks Birch Lane!
