I know, I know, it sounds a little weird right? Who puts pepper in their lemonade?

I’m begging you though, give it a chance and you’ll see just how delicious the combination of tart lemon with cayenne pepper spice is! Once you try it you’ll be a convert, I know it!

Cayenne Pepper in Lemonade

Who puts pepper in their lemonade? This combination became popular in the 1940s as part of a “master cleanse” drink. It is said that both the lemon and the pepper help your body to clear out toxins.

I don’t know about the health benefits (I’m obviously not a doctor) but it sure tastes good!

    1. Let me know what you think Gwen! My boys didn’t like it-they thought it tasted like soda, which they don’t drink, but myself and my husband did!

  1. This sounds SO interesting – love that you used brown sugar! Sweet, sour and a little kick … can’t wait to try this!

    1. Thanks Keri-you can make it with maple syrup too, just use slightly less than the measurement for brown sugar.
