So a few months ago I was brainstorming while on a long drive and I thought to myself, “Melissa-you should make a smoothie that tastes like cake batter…everybody loves cake batter!” After convincing myself it wasn’t weird to talk to myself like that, I thought to go one further-come up with a cake batter smoothie that was not only tasty, but actually not bad for you too. After a few trials I’ve come up with a tasty, healthy smoothie that never fails to satisfy my sweet tooth with it’s cake batter goodness but also doesn’t make me feel guilty afterwards!
- 1 cup vanilla almond milk
- ½ cup vanilla Greek Yogurt
- 3 tbsp yellow cake mix
- ½-1 banana, sliced and frozen
- sprinkles (optional)
- Combine everything other than sprinkles in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour into glass and top with sprinkles if desired
A little tip-my little boys are constantly eating only half of a banana at a time so instead of wasting the rest a while back I started slicing their uneaten portions and throwing them in the freezer for smoothies-perfect for this recipe!
