Well it’s come a long way since I first shared it with you!!

Isn’t it awesome?? I’m totally not a green thumb person so this is huge for me! I’m so proud of my little garden!

I recently saw these cute spoon plant markers from my friend Jessi at Practically Functional and she inspired me to make some cute little markers for my plants too since for once they’re actually thriving.  I decided to go super easy and make my plant markers out of wine corks!! Seriously, easiest craft ever!

I simply wrote the plant name on my cork with a Sharpie (I used black then layered it with gold so it was a little more dimensional) then I stuck the cork on the end of a wooden skewer.  Boom.  Plant marker! I told you it was easy! And they’re holding up beautifully outside as well!

Did you plant a garden this year? How is it growing? Do you struggle with plants like I do?

  1. I dunno if anyone else mentioned this (not enough time to read ALL those comments), but one could also write the names of the plants, vertically, down the corks, for slightly easier, top to bottom reading, or, just turn the cork, so it sits horizontally, atop the skewer.

Another idea, is to buy a bunch of cheap, thrift store or craigslist forks and jam the tines into the corks, so they are perpindicular to the handles, and laying horozontally, across the tines… like a “T” shape… just in case anyone wanted any variations, on this already awesome idea, there ya go!

  7. I’ll bet the Wine Cork Plant Markers would well in our landscaping next to all of those plants and flowers that we can never remember the names of when people ask “What’s that called?”

    1. That’s why I made them Marc! We just build our house last year and I have been adding plants to the yard and trying desperately to remember what I planted where! Thanks for stopping by!

  8. Super cute! We’ve just managed to get most of the weeds out of our garden, so we’re ready to plant now! We’re about a month late, but luckily our growing season goes on forever so we’ll still have plenty of time. I’m jealous of your giant cilantro! I never seem to do well with that one. Looking good!

    1. Thanks Court! I don’t really love cilantro but my husband does so this is my first year trying it and apparently it’s tolerant of my abuse!
