Mahalo, Hawaiian for Thank You.
How do you usually show your thanks? Do you try to repay the favor? I tend to give baked goodies…I show affection through feeding people (my husband doesn’t mind that at all!)
Some of my favorite recipes to give to someone to show gratitude are triple chocolate chip cookies, mini strawberry heart cheesecakes, and yesterday’s peanut butter and chocolate chip brownie bites are definitely going on the list! I also like to package them up nicely-how cute to receive mini brownies in a mason jar tied up with baker’s twine? To finish off the package I like to make a tag to go along with it-this one I made super easily and it’s even embossed!
To make your own embossed thank you tag you’ll need cardstock, a stamp (I used a clear $1 stamp from Michael’s), A Versamark inkpad or marker, embossing powder, and a heat gun.
The first step is to use the Versamark marker or pad to “ink up” your stamp. If you use the marker be sure you get the entire raised portion of the stamp. Stamp your paper, you’ll see a very faint watermark of your image.
Next, pour a small amount of embossing powder over your watermark being sure to cover the entire image. Pour the excess back into the container. Tap the paper with your finger to remove any extra embossing powder.
Now for the magic part-holding your heat gun about an inch or two above your paper heat the embossing powder just until it melts-I love watching it turn from the powder to the metallic-simple pleasures, right?!
To finish off my tag I cut out my image and mounted it on a slightly larger square of colored cardstock then punched a hole for my baker’s twine.
So how do you say “mahalo” in your life?
King’s Hawaiian, the makers of those delectable breads and rolls, is sponsoring a contest called “Project Mahalo” to benefit four amazing charities-Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Family Caregiver Alliance, Meals on Wheels, and One Warm Coat. They are donating a minimum of $10,000 to each charity and the charity with the most votes will get $25,000! It’s an awesome act of generosity isn’t it? Hop over and vote for your favorite charity, I already voted for mine! Be sure to also share how you say thank you in the wdiget below for your chance to win $100 for you and $100 for charity!
