Okay, so I was totally excited to get back to crafty and cooking after last week’s Bring on Spring series! But seriously-do you ever have one of those series of fails that ust won’t quit?? That’s been me the past few days. So in the interest of full disclosure there are no Pinterest-viral pictures in this post-just a string of well-intentioned ideas that turned out not quite blog-pretty!
First up in Watergate Salad…have you ever had this dessert? My Grandma used to make it for me all the time when I was a little kid and I love, love, love it! It’s vaguely green so I thought it was a good thing to share just before St Patrick’s Day, right? Wrong. Seriously-Watergate Salad is the most impossible dish to photograph in any sort of attractive manner. I promise it tastes good though!!!
To make it just mix one package of pistachio pudding mix with a large can of crushed pineapple (undrained). Then add a small container of Cool Whip, two cups of mini marshmallows and some crushed walnuts if you like. Chill it and enjoy-kids love this stuff!!
Next up was a little paper crafting…I found a super cute vintage Easter graphic from The Graphics Fairy and decided to make a little pop-up Easter card with it. It’s not horrible, but just pretty ~blah~ overall. Another blog fail.
Okay, I saved the most ridiculous for last….I thought these little guys were going to be soooooo cute! I took some plastic Easter eggs and glued on some googly eyes, a little cardstock beak, and make some legs out of floral wire. Yeah. Um, not so cute. While my four year old was absolutely enamoured with them my husband couldn’t stop “cracking” jokes (pun intended.)
So now you know that I have actually been crafting and cooking and trying so hard to get you guys some good stuff to look at! Hopefully I’ve busted out of my funk and will have some great ideas to share this week. Tomorrow I’m going to share some cute ideas and tips for getting picky eaters to eat and then I have my own spring decor updates and some cute Easter crafts later in the week-thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for stopping by!

OK, besides being impossible to photograph, Watergate salad sound delicious! Kinda along the same lines as my ambrosia. I had to photograph it once and I put some dried cranberries on top just so it didn’t look like a big pile o’ mush. It kinda worked. Even though your little chicks are kinda creepy, I think we’re still going to use that one for a Spring break activity this week because Kennedy will love them!

Melissa, I think the little chicks are actually kind of cute and charming! And the card is pretty – just put some Stickles on that thing and it will pop! Watergate salad is delicious! I would not call any of these “fails” at all!

Your Watergate salad is just like my Orange Fluff. It just sort of looked like a blob on the plate! I enjoyed this post…and the chicks are really cute. I would have never come up with something like that so good job on creativity!

You may think they are fails, but I’m pretty sure that Watergate salad will be a big win in my house – we love pistachio anything

Oh, girl! We ALL have those days.. I just made some new mirror frames and they’re a BIG, FAT, UGLY, EXPENSIVE FAIL! Let’s hope I can salvage them…
But I don’t’ think those cuties are fails… I like those little chickadees!
Dude, your fails are still pretty awesome! I’m wondering if I should censor my projects a little more now. :/

I love Watergate salad! I agree that it’s hard to photograph. The chicks are quite hysterical!!
I agree, these are not fails. I have made some big boo-boos. I would not dare to post them. Love the chicks and will have to make some green salad for my family.
Thanks Helen…”fails” was probably a strong word-I just felt like I had a string of things I thought would be so great for the blog that just didn’t end up pretty enough!
I would like to see more of your projects.
