I was so excited last Friday to have the chance to have a little “Ladies Night” mani/pedi party at my house for some of my neighborhood gals!
I had noticed talking with the ladies over the past few weeks that quite a few of us have a hard time finding time to go to the spa or motivating to spend our money on the indulgence of getting a professional manicure or pedicure. What better way for us all to have a little break and get a little pampering in than a Mani/Pedi party??
To prep for the party I headed to Walgreens, they had Buy 1 Get 1 50% off on Sally Hansen InstaDri and Salon Effects Nail Polish so I picked up a bunch of nice bright colors for the girls. I also picked up some Pumice Foot Polish and Moisturizing Foot Creme, Nail Art pen, French Manicure kit, and some nail accessories to make favors. Then I headed over to their food section to get cookie mix, trail mix, and some juice and soda to make Mock Sangria (recipe coming up in a moment)! I used my Balance Rewards Card to get some great deals so I was able to pick up quite a bit more for the party than I would have been able to otherwise.
Before the party I whipped up some cute favors-I took a Sally Hansen Foot File and topped it with an emery board, toe separators in adorable patterns, nail polish and some nail clippers. I wrapped it up with some cute lace ribbon from my stash-I thought they were super cute (and very affordable!)
As I prepped for the ladies I laid out the trail mix and baked the cookies I had picked up at Walgreens. I also added in a sliced baguette, crackers, and some spinach dip. Iced lemon water and Mock Sangria finished off the refreshments! The mock Sangria was so tasty and easy to make. I used two cups of frozen fruit (mine was a mix of strawberries, peaches, and melon), a half a gallon of Lemon-Lime Soda, and a half gallon of Strawberry Banana fruit/veggie juice. I garnished with fresh mint and fresh cut lemon, oranges, and strawberries. Everyone looooooved it!
I had commandeered the dining room for the party, with a chair set up in the corner for soaking feet in a basin along with the Sally Hansen Foot Scrub and Lotion and some towels (my camera focus just broke so unfortunately some of my party pictures didn’t come out.) On the table I set up votive holders with cotton balls and swabs, bowls for soaking nails, and all my Sally Hansen goodies to share! I also had the super cool Gel Nail Kit for the ladies to try that my sweet, sweet husband got me for Christmas!
As everyone arrived we poured the Sangria, dug into the cookies, and got some great chatting in!
About half the ladies opted for the gel nails and the other half for French manicures for their fingernails. Everyone picked something a little different for their toes-I did mine with coral polish and used the White Nail Art Pen to put little polka dots on them-I’m so in love with coral this spring! I thought the polka dots were pretty cute and unexpected too! (You can buy your own Nail Art Pens online, they are so cute-I had never used them before but think I’m addicted now! Ikat, stripes-imagine the possibilities!)
I think all the ladies had a really great time and it was so nice to have some girl time and a little “me” time all wrapped up in one!
