DIY Decorating with Potted Bulbs

This post brought to you by iBulb. All opinions are 100% mine.

Did you notice all the flowers in my new office I revealed last week? I’m so anxious for spring that I went out and bought a few potted tulips to brighten up my space.

I love buying potted bulbs instead of cut flowers in the spring, they give me the same color but last longer and I love that I can replant them in my yard for the next year!  I picked these up at the grocery store for less than $5 each but you can find them at flower shops and garden centers too.

The little red ones came wrapped in a plethora of bright foil, decorated for Valentine’s Day, but I just took all that “stuff” off the pot and dropped it in this adorable little lined burlap pot cover I picked up at Pick Your Plum a while back.  The little wooden tag was 99 cents at the craft store.  To give it a cute look I gave it a couple of quick coats of chalkboard spray paint and now it’s tracking the Spring Countdown!

Aren’t they gorgeous? I ended up deciding to share the wealth and gifted these to a friend who could use a little pick-me-up.  Who could resist smiling with gorgeous flowers like these?

This pot I kept for my office because I was just head over heels in love with the bright colors of the tulips.  For this one I spray painted a 99 cent cheap plastic pot in Gloss White and added a little jute twine across the top. I held the jute twine in place with a dot of hot glue.

Do you love buying and decorating with potted bulbs as much as I do in the Spring? What bulbs are your favorites? For more bulb inspiration and ideas check out this Pinterest board.

Beautiful pics and flowers! I’ve planted one bulb one year and….well…I have a knack for killing plants. I don’t know why, but I do. So, I try to spare their lives and let them go home with others. :)

    • Melissa says:

Oh Crystal, I’m like the queen of the brown thumb, although I try so hard! I planted bulbs in the fall for this spring and they all came up las tmonth when we had a warm few weeks and now they are dead as can be :( At least with bulbs you get to try again next year!

Great chalkboard tags! I was just thinking about going and getting some bulbs to start indoors for Easter. Hyacinths are a very pretty spring flower, I wonder if those would work. Stopping by from Tatertots and Jello. Hope you have a lovely day!!
