First, I have to start by saying that I {heart} my Facebook peeps. Y’all totally motivated me the other day when I was reluctant to paint my master bathroom (which had been taped up for a week already!) Every time I started to burn out on the painting I’d just check in on FB and look at all the “you can do it!” and “you go girl!” messages and it totally perked me up and helped me finish it (in three hours too!) So today I’m super excited to share it with you!
First lets remember what it looked like before as I shared in this post about decorating around a garden tub:
It’s not bad, right?
I had two big issues though-one is that the paint the used throughout our house when it was built last year was kindof bland and it was flat paint-so it shows every smudge and the humidity of the bathroom left water marks on the paint. Yeah, not so pretty.
The other issue was the window, which I discussed in the last post. I love this window. It faces out to wetlands and the view is fantastic, especially in spring and summer. We really, really, really didn’t want to lose the view so for about six months we didn’t have any window covering up. (Risque, right?) Well, then some neighbors decided to start cutting though the easment behind our fence and that was about the time I went on the hunt for a window treatment…don’t want to give anyone an eyeful getting into the shower in the evening!
I knew I wanted a Roman Shade and I really wanted to find a top-down shade so I could have privacy but still enjoy the view.
Enter Blinds.com and my amazing Consultant Laura (Yes, they have FREE live-person consultations via face-to-face chat or via phone.) Laura was awesome-I told her what I was looking for and she offered me a few options, helped me decide the a Flat Roman Shade, choose a color, and waited patiently while my three boys screamed and played in the background and I measured my window so my shade would fit perfectly. It was seriously impeccable customer service.
Shortly thereafter we received the shade in the mail and seriously install was two screws. Like five minutes. Yay! I loved it! It totally gave me the “push” I needed to paint because I knew it would look even more fabulous with the beachy blue-gray I had picked out.
Well, then life happened and the baby flooded the bathroom and kitchen and we had to wait weeks for repairs to be made to both rooms. Finally, last week they finished the last of the repairs and I started taping. And we’re back to where we started-you. You, my awesome readers who motivated me and encouraged me over on Facebook to paint the bathroom on a Tuesday morning even when I had a cold and no motivation.
So, sweet readers, the super amazing folks over at Blinds.com are going to give you in all your awesomeness the chance to win a $100 credit to their site so you can find your own perfect window treatments! Use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter and I’ll choose the winner next Friday!

I need blinds for all of the bedrooms in the house. We have curtains, but the sun pours in on Saturday, when I can try to sleep in. Had just purchased new blinds, then replaced all the windows, and the new blinds don’t fit!
Wow girl, you get posts out quickly…didn’t you just paint that bathroom yesterday? Or are my days all mixed together? Anyway, I love the color and I love that that the blinds are bottom up, that makes so much sense.

Hello Melissa! First of all I love your bathroom – you’ve done a wonderful job!!! I like your blind there too, perfect for that space. I’d really, really, really like to win a blind for my bathroom too… we are renovating our house and working the entire renovation around having natural light come through our existing bathroom. There will be no view there now though that window so I need a blind to put up there. Fingers crossed and thank you Melissa for the opportunity to win!!!

It looks so pretty. Love the new blind too. The top down feature is fabulous. We had that a few times in different houses and it’s so handy!!
Enjoy your NEW space
Love the color!
I could use new blinds everywhere, but I definitely would have to start with the second floor bathroom, which currently has none. However, I have a great dream/fantasy: “Why don’t we just trade bathrooms?” I would LOVE to have a tub loke yours or an old anitque clawfoot to take a good, long bubble bath in. Now I am dreaming again…
