{Another} DIY Stained Wood Map

Are you tired of my maps yet? I hope not!

My oldest son’s birthday is today-he’s six and I can hardly believe it. He was my inspiration for creating my first stained world map months ago and recently he’s been asking me for a new map for his room.  Last week I made this rustic stained United States map just for him and he’s pretty excited about it (my little geography nut!)

I made it using the same process as the first map so I won’t rehash the entire tutorial here.  I also plan on offering these up in my Etsy shop as well.

I’ve been trying to add more items to my shop too.   I’ve been thinking about offering custom designs like my son’s Pirate Sign with boat cleat hanger or custom Pirate Sail headboard hangings.  Is there anything you’d like to see over there-let me know in the comments!

Do it Jessica! This one is even easier than the world one since there is less detail (still takes some patience though!)

Oh man Keri-he is the epitome of geography nut! We started when he was one or two showing him maps of where my husband would be with the Army and by two he could name all fifty states! He loves everything maps!

Thanks so much Jacque! My son watches me make these a lot for my Etsy shop so he was happy to keep this one for himself!

Who could get tired of maps. This is incredible. I just love it! I may have to get around to some more map projects this hear. There are so many ways to go with them. The idea of staining it is great. Nice work.

Thanks so much Andrea! We’re military and have moved a ton too-probably like maps for the same reason! It’s always fun to see where you’ve been!
