Decorating with Accent Lamps

Lately I’ve been wavering on needing more color in my home.  I tend to gravitate towards neutrals pretty consistently but have managed to pop color in my accessories occasionally.  Recently I saw another blogger’s post about Lamps Plus and their new Color + Plus™ lamps and coordinating shades and I loved the idea of using lamps as another way to add some color to my home.

Color Plus choose your color lamps

With over 240 mix and match options and 60+ colors that coordinate with Sherwin Williams paints you can find the right color for pretty much any room.  I looked around my house for the places I had actually popped in some color to see if I could find some complimentary lamps.

Remember the coral color I painted my vintage mirror-turned-whiteboard? This lamp would go beautifully with it in my made-over laundry room.

Or this perfect boy-blue lamp with striped shade to go with Jack’s vintage map desk and American flag pegboard?

And this fun green lamp with whimsical chevron shade would work perfectly in Tommy’s nursery.

They have so many colors, I could browse all day (and yes-they have the neutrals I love as well!)

Are you a neutral gal like myself or is your home full of color? What do you think of using colorful accent lamps to add to your decor?

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective; the opinions expressed here are all my own.

I love the idea of adding color to rooms by using lamps. I am so sick and tired of the same old “plane jane” lamps! Currently I have taken yarn, and glued it to the lamp shades in my living room to match the paint. It’s a temporary solution to a never ending problem… Now, I have to figure out what two lamps are made from so that I can try to paint them, and put either yarn or ribbons around those shades. Buying new lamps just isn’t in my budget right now, but paint, yarn and ribbons are, so I have to make do with what I have until the buget grows. It still gives pops of color to the rooms though, and that is my main goal.
