First, the pretzels. These are pretty straightforward…I bought large pretzels sticks and melted semisweet chocolate chips in a tall glass. I dipped the pretzels, tapping them on the side of the glass as I took them out (glass is hot-careful!) before laying them on wax paper to set. After they were all dipped I either drizzled them with melted white chocolate or sprinkled them with holiday sprinkles.
Now for the cheese straws/cheese sticks, whatever you want to call them-oh my these are delicious!
Cheese Straws with a Kick!
16 oz shredded sharp cheddar at room temperature
1 1/2 cups of softened butter or margarine (I use Country Crock)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground red pepper
1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
4 cups of flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a stand mixer blend cheese and butter. Add in seasoning and mix well. Slowly add flour while mixer is running until blended. Roll out dough on well floured surface and cut into sticks with a pizza cutter. bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 15-20 minutes or until golden. (If you want a “straw” more than a “stick” press dough through a cookie press with star attachment and cut into 4-5″ lengths.)
Seriously-try these, they are fantastic!

They are so good Courtenay, let me know if you try them! Funny story-my hubby was looking at the blog yesterday and was like “When did you make these? Why didn’t I get any?” and I had to admit I ate all the leftover ones (from the gift boxes I made) before he got home!
Who knew chocolate dipped pretzels could be so fancy? Yours are pretty!
And Mmmmm cheese straws! I love ‘em! Pinning all of this!
