This year I’m horribly behind on my Christmas shopping. My husband is the worst for me for shopping. No lie he returned every gift I gave him last year. Seriously. Every. Gift. I joked with him that he was getting one thing this year-a gift card!
I didn’t really want to just give him a gift card though so I thought of giving him a date night-with his hectic job and our three little guys he’s always wanting us to go out together so I thought I’d put together a prepaid special night for just the two of us.
We’re wanting to go to a concert in a nearby town coming up so I went ahead and purchased the tickets for us and began my search on Mastercard Marketplace for a good deal on a nice dinner out. I recently heard about the Mastercard Marketplace for the first time-it is a shopping site with discounts and special offers exclusively for Mastercard customers. I hopped over to check it out because I’m always down for a good deal and it was pretty cool that I could search for deals by category or by zip code.
I found an awesome restaurant I have been wanting to go to (I love some fondue!) and clicked over to get my offer! It took me right to restuarants.com where I was able to use my Mastercard to buy my certificate for our dinner out.
After I printed out my certificate and receipt as well as my concert tickets I of course had to package them up all pretty!
I rolled up the certificates and tied them with some bakers twine, then put them in a pretty little Christmas box. (And by the way-if you’re ever short tissue paper and need to fill a gift box, coffee filters work just fine!

Thanks Donna!!
This is SUCH a great idea! I think men are so hard to buy for. Last year for Christmas I did something similar and took my hubby dinner and got him tickets to the STL Blues Hockey Game…but I didn’t package it nearly a pretty as you have here…I just put it all in an envelope! Pinning this to remember for next year.

Thats great Dawn-When we were stationed in Kansas I gave my hubby tickets to see the Chiefs play the Steelers for his birthday, it was a really fun day out for us!
Would it be too obvious if I sent this post to my husband?
Great idea to pretty it up in a package!

Send away Kelly! I’m at the point where I had my husband make an Amazon wish list and even then I’m scared to buy off of it!
my husband by far is the most difficult to shop for as well. A present for both of you is a nice idea and will probably be a lovely memory for years to come.

Why are men so hard to shop for Sarah? I literally bought my husband things he had specifically mentioned he wanted last year and he still returned it all!! At least I know we’ll have a night of fun together coming up!
Your package is so pretty and what a wonderful gift idea – thanks!
