Autumn Wreath Update

autumn wreath for fall with grapevine wreaths and hydrangeas, feathers, wheat, and pine cones. Shades of orange, brown, and yellow.

It was time for the front porch to get the Autumn makeover this past weekend so we hit up Lowe’s and the local feed store for supplies.  The full transformation isn’t quite finished and its been horribly rainy the past few days so for now you’ll have to just make do with the wreath.

I had previously been sporting the Easy Spring Wreath on the door for months.  I tried my Burlap Monogram Wreath but the size wasn’t quite big enough.  When I pulled out my autumn decor I had two fall wreaths I had made previously but they too were too small.  (One of our past rentals had double doors so I had two identical wreaths.)

My first thought was to take all the “plumage” so to speak off the smaller grapevine wreaths and add them to the larger wreath which I had removed the spring decor from.  That was a big no-go as I apparently hot glued the heckfire out of the small wreaths when making them.  There was no separating that stuff from the grapevine.  So I improvised and attached the entire small wreath to the front of the larger wreath. I actually like it-it adds some dimension and gives it a whole lot o’ texture!

The only other change I made was to add a few craft store feathers to the bottom.  I think it gave it the perfect finishing touch.  What do you think?

Do you change out your wreaths seasonally? My hubby was poking a little fun at me over the weekend while we were organizing a closet because he found my stash of wreaths.

Thanks for stopping by!

What’s better than one grapevine wreath? Two grapevine wreaths! Did you see my red door leading to the house from my mud room? We’re like pretty much door twins.
