If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter you likely saw our truck bed full of straw bales a couple of weeks ago. We had to seed the backyard and my husband went to the local feed store to get straw to put over the seeded areas. I had never been to the feed store before so I was pleasantly surprised that straw bales were $4 each as opposed to $8 a piece for the tiny decorative ones at the craft store. So I convinced him to pick me up a couple too!
I already showed you my autumn wreath, and you might recognize my little thrifted trash to treasure crate on that straw bale too! I resisted the urge to buy huge mums since I’m setting up my fall decor so early in the year and instead went with the small mums so they can grow over the next couple of months.
I love the Indian corn, I hope it holds up okay outside, I’ve never used it outdoors before. I tried to incorporate my summer plants a little by working my salvia and begonia into the mix. I can’t wait to see everything in a month or so when the plants fill out!
Thanks for stopping by!

I love me some bales of hay! I’m so impressed that you’re going to let your mums grow. I tend to kill mine within a few weeks. But they looks pretty while they last!

Girl, you did a great job! I agree with Janel…grabbing my cider and will be there in 5! I love the simplicity of your porch!
Pretty! Smart move going with smaller mums. I will likely have dead mums come Thanksgiving! LOL

I love it! A new tractor supply store convert! You have to go in the spring for chick days
I love the double wreath btw — the extra bulk and asymmetry are really pretty
