Family Room Accent Wall with a Giveaway!

Are you just itching to find out what I did with those Giant Photo Prints I shared yesterday?? Without further ado, here is my new family room accent wall:

( I normally do not show my children on my blog so that is why their photos are watermarked)

I am in love with the way this wall turned out!

You can click over to yesterday’s post to see how I made the large wall photos for less than $15 a piece. What I’m super excited to tell you about today is the typography on the wall. I kept seeing (and pinning) some wooden letters over on Pinterest and finally clicked through to the website Craftcuts.com.  When I got there I was so excited at how affordable and versatile their products are.  They have SO many different kinds of wood letters with an unbelievable amount of options. They have over 1700 different font styles people.  Hello??!! I knew that I had to spread the word on this great find so I contacted them and they were ever-so-kind enough to send me some letters to try out.

I chose my letters in unpainted baltic birch.  The Baltic Birch is strong and light which I knew would be perfect for hanging on my wall.  These letters came in sizes ranging from 1″ tall to 16″ and I chose the 9″ height for my project.  The font I chose was Claredon Cn BT.  The letters arrived quickly and very well packaged-no damage to be seen which was a relief because I was so excited to get them painted and up on the wall!  I sprayed them red with Krylon Dual Primer and Paint combo and they only took two light coats.

As soon as they were dry I raced upstairs to hang them.  I used the same Elmer’s Adhesive that I used on the wall photos to attach them to the wall.  They are so light they easily hung this way.  I was so happy not to have to put holes in the walls!

I had originally planned on having two more pictures up on the wall but I realized with the built in bench seat I really didn’t want people leaning against them when they sat there.  So I’m still trying to figure out what to do with that bottom space.  I also need to make some cushions for the bench and pop in a little window treatment as well.  There is so much more in this room to show you but I’m not ready yet!!

And now for the good stuff-Craft Cuts is going to give one of my lucky readers a $30 gift certificate to buy anything you want from their store-and they are not just limited to wooden letters-they have craft shapes, craft boards, vinyl chalkboards, wall murals-I mean you totally have to go check them out!  Use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter-I’ll announce the winner next Friday! ***********GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED-Congrats Amy-you have been emailed!!****************

Great wall. What about stenciling on the lower part of the wall? If someone does lean against the wall, nothing will fall off and if you don’t like it or just want to change it is it (as we all say) just paint. I could tell if the wall is textured.

  5. Super cute! I love how the red stands out! Would love for you to come visit my Get Social Sunday link party and show off your awesome blog!

Home decorated and just gave him some wicker baskets that weren’t looking so great. I love to spray paint things and I can’t believe I didn’t think to paint them a dark color. Your space looks amazing and inspired me so much! If you have time, I.’d love to have you link up at my party doing on. Now at Sunday Blog Love. Have a wonderful weekend!
