Before my husband went to Iraq last year we would occassionally hire a babysitter and go out for ‘date nights.” These usually consisted of us getting dinner and a movie. It was nice to have some kid-free time but quite honestly we got into a rut and our date nights ended up being pretty boring and very expensive (babysitters don’t come cheap!)
While he was gone I resolved to plan better dates for us. Things that we would remember, dates that would remind us of our whirlwind romance in Italy (that’s a story for another time!) So, we decided to try and have one good date a month-last month we went to see Jason Aldean in concert and it was wonderful! I knew I had to top that this month so when I found out that just outside Fort Bragg, NC is one of the country’s top ten zip-lines, I signed us up!
It was awesome! Well worth the price. The ZipQuest tour consisted of two hours zipping through the treetops and over Carver Falls in Fayetteville, NC. The guides (Greg and Greg) were great, funny, and knowledgeable. There were suspension bridges and spiral staircases wrapped around trees. Everything was very eco-friendly as well.
As a side note, while I’m not officially scared of heights I do have a healthy respect for them! (DH however jumps out of airplanes for a living and wasn’t phased in the slightest!) I was pretty nervous the first two zips but got over it quickly once I gained confidence in the equipment and safety measures…I would recommend this even if you’re scared of heights as a way to step outside your comfort zone.
If you ever get a chance to go I highly recommend it. It was a blast! Now, what to do for date night next month???
